Tungkillo Energy Storage

A new energy storage project in Australia

Acknowledgement of Country

In planning for Australia's clean energy future, RES acknowledges its rich history. We pay our respects to the Peramangk people, the Traditional Custodians of the Country on which the Tungkillo Energy Storage Project is proposed. We recognise their ongoing connection to land and waterways, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

The Project

RES is proposing to develop the Tungkillo Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Project 40 km east of Adelaide and 8.5 km east of Mount Torrens in South Australia.

RES has now lodged the final Planning Application for the Project with the State Planning Commission. The Planning Application is now on public notification.

Members of the public are invited to make a written representation on the Project during the consultation period.

A copy of the full Planning Application will be exhibited publicly during the formal consultation period on the SA Government Planning Portal’s website.  You can access the website via this link Plan SA.  The consultation period will run for a minimum of 15 business days.

If developed, Tungkillo BESS will deliver significant local benefits through local employment and procurement opportunities and tailored community benefit sharing programs.
