It is expected that, if developed, the Tungkillo Battery Energy Storage will have a capital expenditure of approximately $700M.

During construction, the project is envisioned to create up to 100 full time jobs, with employment opportunities for several full-time technicians continuing for the operation of the battery facility.

These employment benefits extend through the local supply chains to fuel supply, vehicle servicing, uniform suppliers, hotels/motels, B&B's, cafés pubs, catering and cleaning companies, tradespersons, tools and equipment suppliers, and many other businesses.

In addition to local employment and economic benefit throughout construction, the Tungkillo Battery Energy Storage System would contribute significantly to the energy security of South Australia, firming energy supply to support Australia's transition from fossil fuel reliance.
